How to add ads on ForumDisplay vBulletin Mobile Style

by

In the past couple of days I’ve been playing around with vBulletin’s Premium Mobile Style and adding ads here and there. Currently I am testing it out Adsense for Mobile Content.

Adding the ads is pretty easy, In your admincp got to your mobile style and find FORUMDISPLAY, Open the FORUMDISPLAY template and find

<vb:if condition="$show['threadslist']">
			<div id="threadlist">

			{vb:raw pagenav}

add your ad code below. You will also want to align it to the center.

Like I said I am using Adsense for Mobile Content and using a 320X50 size ad. Starting in March I will start selling private ads on the mobile style. I just launched the mobile style this week and want to get a overview of it being used on a daily and monthly basis.

Mobile themes are mostly mean’t to make loading websites on mobile devices faster. By installing ads on the them, aren’t you doing exactly the opposite?

No, I don’t think so. I did not see a slowdown at all loading after we added the one ad. Now if you fill up your entire site with them, I’m sure your going to have some kind of issue.

Question, Sir. How would I add the adsense ad so that it is always at the very top of the mobile page? Above the logo.

Thanks.

James,

What settings did you use for google adsense for mobile to make it integrate with Vbulletin?
Markup language?
Encoding?
Scripting language (i assume php)

Thanks for any info.

Unfortunately my Adsense account was banned awhile back ago or I could walk you through it completely.
But this is pretty much the way I did it: http://support.google.com/adsense/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=6687
If I remember correctly it is a JavaScript code, but a very small code, as to load quickly.

Please let me know if that helped or if you need anything else.
