We all need a place to host our forums. We have got our domain name and we have got our chosen software but we need some place to put it. We need a web host. I have always been a member of HostGator and this is a service I recommend because of their reliability, their price and their customer service.

No Down Time

Over my three years at HostGator I have never noticed any of my sites experience any down time. If their was – which I am pretty sure there wasn’t it would have only have been about 5 – 15 mins long. (enough for me to not notice it). Their servers are very, very reliable which is one of the reasons I have favoured them over their competitors.

Putting The Customer First

Further more another reason which I recommend HostGator is their customer service. Now here is a little story.

When I first started my very first forum I launched it on a free forum hosting service. I was a newbie back then . I eventually got enough money to cover for a years hosting – milk runs did not pay well back then – and moved my forum to HostGator. Well all did not go as planned. There was a mistake somewhere which long story short I did not get moved free as promised. I contacted the forum hosting service aswell as HostGator and we all worked together to try and solve the problem so that everyone went away happy. Then one day I get an email from the affiliate director of HostGator saying I have credited your account worth of 15$. Now I thought that was really generous as, realistically it had nothing to do with HostGator. It was more the fault of the forum hosting provider.

Too add to customer relation, I have never came out of a live chat with one of the HostGator’s technical team members less that satisfied. They put in a tremendous amount of effort in to help to solve your problem.

The Main Aspect, They Are Cheap

That last thing why I recommend HostGator is their really cheap affordable hosting packages. There offer hosting for less than 10$ in which you can host unlimited websites (within reason of course). To me that’s what I needed to get going because at the time money was thin.

HostGator. I really recommend this web host to any new board administrator if you are looking for a place to set up shop.
